The Golden Pavilion Temple or also known as Kinkaku-ji is the most popular tourist attraction in Kyoto. The Golden Pavilion was built in the late 14th century as Shogun Ashikaga Yoshimitsu’s retirement villa. Unfortunately in 1950, the pavilion was burn down by a monk due to his obsession with the pavilion. The temple was then rebuilt and returned to its exact condition five years later. What makes this site special is because the surrounding gardens are in harmony with the building. Golden leaf that is covering the pavilion highlights the pavilion’s reflection in the pond as well as the pond’s reflection upon the building.

Mount Fuji is extremely well known tourist attraction for both climbers and sightseers. Tokyo Imperial Palace

The Tokyo Imperial Palace is also one of the “must see” atractions. Located in Tokyo, the home of the Japan’s emperor is also used as museum to show Japanese art and history as well as administration center. The palace is located on the same site where the older castle used to exist. After the former castle was destroyed by fire, the architects incorporated different era as design element to honor the past. There are Japanese garden surrounding the new palace.
